Inspections my name is Mark Nicholet, a
proud member of the
International Association of
Certified Home Inspectors. My Academics include
the Carson Dunlop Consulting Engineers Home
Inspector training, endorsed by the National
certification program and CMHC. I am also an
undergrad of the BCIT BC Building code program
an academic requirement for ASTTBC (Certified
Home Inspector designation). I have Residential,
Commercial and Industrial construction
experience. Please feel free to
contact me at my local office (250) 816-1415.
I know buying a new home
is the biggest investment you'll ever make.
Although the process is very exciting it quickly
becomes overwhelming. The home you have selected
may appear to be just what you are looking for,
how can you be sure there aren't serious unknown
defects which can make your investment very
costly. Having your new home
professionally inspected
by a
Residential Home Inspector
can save you thousands of dollars.
I strongly encourage my clients to accompany the
home inspection process. You should feel free to
ask any questions you may have during the home
inspection. I will point out problems and
explain them to you. I will also show you the
good points of the home. Plus, I will explain
what routine maintenance is needed to keep the
house in top condition. This will help you to
get the most benefit from the inspection and
gain the most understanding of the systems that
make up your home, and how to maintain it.
I generate easy-to-read comprehensive inspection
reports. Everything identified during the home
inspection will be included in the report with
narrative descriptions, pictures and diagrams.
Using the information in the home inspection
report, you will be able to make an informed
decision.
My Promise to
You
Choosing the right home inspector can be
difficult. Unlike most professionals, you
probably will not get to meet me until after you
hire me. Furthermore, different inspectors have
varying qualifications, equipment, experience,
reporting methods, and yes, different pricing.
One thing for sure is that a home inspection
requires work, a lot of work. Ultimately a
thorough inspection depends heavily on the
individual inspector’s own effort. If you honor
me by permitting me to inspect your new home, I
guarantee that I will give you my very best
effort. This I promise you.
Consumer
Warning
Consumers should be very careful when shopping
for a home inspector. Currently, the
industry is unregulated and many unqualified
people offer home inspection services.
Home inspectors that offer to do repair work,
recommend repair companies, not academically
trained or are not part of an association should
be avoided. The BC government, Minister of
Public Safety and Solicitor General, John Les
has ordered legislation to license home inspectors
this Fall/Winter 2008.
